Micronational Proclamation Home
This is the official website for the Micronational Proclamation to the Recognized Nations of the World. This is a document, with the latest version shown below, that will be sent to the world leaders when we have enough signatures, and like how it looks. It is made to tell the Macronational world leaders of our existence, and to have them treat us as true countries, instead of as fantasies.
Micronational Proclamation to the Recognized Nations of the World
Dear (Name of recipient / representative of (name of Macronation)), In the last thirty years, the creation of micronations has increased exponentially. Micronations are, according to the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States, full, and actual countries. The article of which I am speaking is Article 1, which states “The state as a person of international law should possess the following qualifications: (a) a permanent population; (b) a defined territory; (c) government; and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states.” Most micronations possess some or all of these qualities. We are not pretend; we are not nonexistent. We are as much normal countries, whether we are known or not, as the case may be, as (name of recipient Macronation). We expect to be treated as such. We deserve to be treated as a full and complete country because we are countries, as stated in Article 1 of the Montevideo Convention. Many of us have very few significant differences with the recognized nations of the world, except that we have fewer citizens and less conflict. Although we request that you recognize us, we do not demand seats in the United Nations, as of yet, although most or all of us will accept one if offered. The United Nations offers seats to all nations, and so we, as fully formed countries, should be allowed also. We expect to be treated fairly, and not ignored as has been generally done so far. We require that those of our citizens whose names and locations are disclosed, are not discriminated against, imprisoned, have their rights revoked, or mistreated in any way for their political preferences. The general attitude of many of the recognized nations (Macronations) towards us as of yet is to ignore our existence. Others, however, are unaware of our existence, and choose to stay unacquainted with the smaller nations of the world. In these manners, you are crippling us to a large extent. Without attention from anyone who doesn’t happen to stumble on a micronation’s website by chance, we have neither a large nor steady stream of citizens, and are stopped in our growth and expansion. The following signatures contain the names of all of the Micronations who concur with the statements and ascertains made in this Proclamation. The combined populations of the nations who signed this proclamation is (252). From top to bottom, the information is Name of Micronation, The person you will contact when, and if you would like to communicate with these Countries, the Nation’s E-Mail Address, and their Website URL.
